Policies & Information

Welcome to Warminster Scout Group! As part of our commitment to providing a safe, inclusive, and enjoyable environment for all members, we have established a set of policies and guidelines to govern our operations and ensure the well-being of everyone involved. Below, you’ll find key information about our policies, procedures, and important guidelines to help you navigate your experience with us.

Health and Safety

The health and safety of our members are paramount in all of our activities and events. We adhere to strict health and safety protocols to minimize risks and ensure the well-being of everyone involved. This includes conducting risk assessments for activities, providing appropriate supervision and training for volunteers, and maintaining emergency procedures to address any incidents that may occur.

Equal Opportunities

We are committed to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion within our Scout group. We welcome individuals from all backgrounds and abilities and strive to create an environment where everyone feels valued, respected, and included. We do not tolerate discrimination of any kind and actively work to challenge bias and promote understanding and acceptance among our members.

Group Finance Policy

Our Scout group operates under a transparent and responsible finance policy to ensure the effective management of funds and resources. We adhere to strict financial procedures, including budgeting, accounting, and reporting, to maintain financial stability and integrity. Our finance policy outlines the procedures for fundraising, budget allocation, and expenditure approval to ensure that funds are used efficiently and following the group’s objectives and priorities.

Support Fund

We understand that financial challenges may arise for some families, and we are committed to providing support to ensure that all members can participate fully in Scout activities. Our support fund is available to assist families facing financial hardship by covering membership fees, uniform costs, and other necessary expenses related to scouting. We strive to ensure that no child is excluded from participating in scouting activities due to financial constraints and encourage families in need to reach out to our leadership team for assistance.

Joining Policy

Our Joining Policy outlines the procedures for individuals interested in joining our Scout group. We welcome new members from diverse backgrounds and abilities and strive to provide a positive and inclusive experience for everyone. Prospective members are encouraged to attend a trial session to experience scouting firsthand before formally joining the group.

Social Media Policy

Our Social Media Policy governs the use of social media platforms by members, volunteers, and leaders within our Scout group. We encourage the responsible use of social media to promote scouting activities, share information, and engage with our community. Key principles include respecting the privacy and confidentiality of others, refraining from posting inappropriate or offensive content, and adhering to the values of scouting in all online interactions.

Feedback and Concerns

We value feedback from our members and stakeholders and welcome any questions, suggestions, or concerns you may have. If you have feedback or need to raise a concern about any aspect of our Scout group, please don’t hesitate to reach out to a member of our leadership team or the Group Scout leader via gsl@warminsterscoutgroup.onmicrosoft.com. We are here to listen, address your concerns, and work together to continuously improve our programs and services.
